About Me

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education/Curriculum and Instruction Multidisciplinary Studies grades 1-8 from Tennessee Technological University in May 2001.  I immediately entered Graduate School at Tennessee Technological University in August 2001 and completed my Master of Arts degree in education in August of 2002.  I began my teaching career in the Sequatchie County School system from 2002-2010.
I began teaching in the Warren County School System on August 20010, and I have taught at West Elementary the entire time.  I have a passion for teaching and for my students, and I form lasting bonds with my students and their families. I am very passionate about teaching and learning Math, and I love to help students to discover and develop their own love of learning Math.
I have one child, Ethan Steakley, and he is in the 8th grade at WCMS for the 2017-2018 school year.  I also have a child of the 4-legged variety, a sweet little Chihuahua named Ginger, who is a rescue dog.  My son and I have a deep love for animals, and we rescue and rehome them whenever possible.  Ginger was one of our rescue dogs, but we soon realized that her forever home was with us --- it was love at first sight.
